An Original Vintage Pillow Sham (measures 17" x 17" [43 x 43 cm]) (Learn More)

U.S. Army - Sister, the 1940s World War II (WWII) "Sweetheart" satin pillow sham ("Of all the Girls. I ever knew. There never was. One like you. You're the nearest. You're the dearest. Pal I ever knew.") featuring patriotic art of a bald eagle clutching an American flag with war imagery in the background. These pillows shams were available at PX (Post Exchange) stores on military bases during World War II and they would often have the name of the base at the bottom (this one does not). Soldiers would pick out an appropriate style of sham and send them home to their sweethearts and loved ones. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Important Added Info:

UPDATED 02/13/2012: Note that a knowledgeable collector pointed out that this is a "Sweetheart" pillow sham and not a banner as we initially listed. We have updated the Item Description with further information.

Condition: very good.
