An Original 1950 (from the first release of this movie in Argentina) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Argentinean Movie Poster (measures approximately 29" x 43") (Learn More) Scott of the Antarctic, the 1948 (released in the U.S. in 1949) Charles Frend English explorer action adventure docudrama ("The noblest adventure man ever dared!"; "A truly great motion picture!"; "Never-to-be-forgotten adventure to the edge of the Earth with..."; "The Royal Command Film"; about British explorer Robert Falcon Scott's last expedition to the South Pole) starring John Mills (in the title role as Robert Falcon Scott), Derek Bond, Harold Warrender, James Robertson Justice, Reginald Beckwith, and Diana Churchill NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Osvaldo Venturi Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny tears and tiny paper loss in the vertical foldline. There were areas of paper loss across the bottom 2" of the poster, as seen in our photo. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
