An Original Vintage Folded Circus Poster (measures 19" x 28") (Learn More)

Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey Circus, a 1944 circus poster featuring an image of a growling tiger in a jungle landscape ("The Greatest Show on Earth"). The poster has small printing at the bottom that reads "COPYRIGHT 1944 RINGLING BROS AND BARNUM & BAILEY COMBINED SHOWS INC." If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. The modern version of the circus started in 1919 when the Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, a circus created by P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey, was merged with the Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows. With weakening attendance and high operating costs, the circus closed on May 21st, 2017 after 146 years.

Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded across the middle at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good. There are creases, stains, and a few small tears in the top border. There are two horizontal creases near the center of the poster and several partial horizontal creases in the upper and lower parts of the poster. There are remnants of a paper snipe over the bottom blank border. Other than the above, the poster is in pretty good condition. It would display pretty nicely just as it is, and certainly it would look fantastic after professional linenbacking.
