An Original Vintage Autographed 8" x 10" Still (Learn More) Smiley Burnette was a character actor from the 1930s to the 1950s, playing mostly comedy supporting roles in B-westerns, primarily with Charles Starrett and Gene Autry. Near the end of his career, he had a role on TV's "Petticoat Junction" as the engineer on the Cannonball. Some of his movies include: Dick Tracy, Undersea Kingdom, and King of the Cowboys. Burnette passed away in 1967 at the age of 55. Important Added Info: This still was signed by Smiley Burnette in the late 1940s (it seems pretty certain that is when the still is from, because of how youthful Alex Gordon is!). It was taken on the set of a movie where Smiley was joking with Alex Gordon. Smiley signed it as follows: "To Alex: you’re a fine feller you wear well Smiley Burnette". This photo was consigned directly by Alex and Ruth Gordon! Condition: very good to fine. There are a very few faint emulsion scuffs scattered around the edges of the still, but they are truthfully not at all noticeable except when the still is tilted to the light.
