Seiter Hawaii screwball husbands-and-wives comedy (produced by Hal Roach; likely the very best Laurel & Hardy movie, this is the one where they sneak off to a Sons of the Desert convention and play ukuleles and sing "Honolulu Baby", but they lie to their wives and are reported dead in a ship sinking, and much more!) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy), Charley Chase (primarily remembered as a great silent comedian who appeared in 276 movies, most of them comedy shorts, Chase also directed 140 comedy shorts), Mae Busch, and Dorothy Christy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that in the past, we have not known what year this re-release is from. However, a long time collector told us he saw an ad in the exhibitor magazine Motion Picture Herald that said this movie was being re-released to theaters by Film Classics on New Year's Day 1945. Therefore, this is from a 1945 re-release, which is just 12 years after the initial release (and first release posters from this movie are incredibly rare). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had long horizontal tears or creases scattered in the top 8" and bottom 8" of the poster. It also had an 8" vertical tear slightly to the right of the center of the bottom border, going through the right of the "R" of "DESERT", and one in the top border going through the right of the "R" of "LAUREL". There were some small tears and tiny areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. A talented restorer backed the poster really nicely, and it displays really well, but you can see slight signs of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
