Important Added Info:

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had extra folds and it had small tears and small areas of paper loss along most of the folds, with many scuffs scattered in the solid colored areas. There are long tears and paper loss near the bottom of the flowered robe. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Obviously, one would prefer to find a better condition example of this poster, but given that it is over 110 years-old, it might be a long wait!
