Date Sold 1/12/2012Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) a local theater window card for the Star Theatre-Concord, New Hampshire, advertising their show for a week in 1926, The Unknown Cavalier, the 1926 Albert S. Rogell silent romantic cowboy western ("From the story 'Ride Him, Cowboy' by Kenneth Perkins") starring Ken Maynard, Kathleen Collins, David Torrence, T. Roy Banres, and Jim Mason. Note that this movie was remade under the title of the source story in 1932 with John Wayne in the lead role! AND Exit Smiling, the 1926 Sam Taylor comedy starring Beatrice Lillie, Jack Pickford, and Doris Lloyd AND The Bat, the 1926 Roland West crime horror mystery starring Jack Pickford, Louise Fazenda, Eddie Gribbon, George Beranger, and Charles Herzinger AND Kosher Kitty Kelly, the 1926 James W. Horne romantic comedy (about the marriage between an Irish Catholic girl and a Jewish man, and the movie shows all the stereotypes of the day; this was based on a musical comedy play of the same name, and was obviously a take-off on "Abie's Irish Rose") starring Viola Dana (in the title role as Kosher Kitty Kelly), Vera Gordon, Nat Carr, Tom Forman, and Kathleen Myers AND Her Big Night, the 1926 Melville W Brown mistaken identity romantic movie-making acting comedy ("story by Peggy Gaddis"; about a shop girl who looks exactly like a famous movie star, and she impersonates her, and all goes well until the actual movie star shows up!) starring Laura La Plante (in a dual role!), Einar Hanson, Zasu Pitts, Tully Marshall, and Lee Moran. Note that in researching this movie, we discovered a rare mistake in the New York Times database! They describe this movie incorrectly, giving the details of another 1926 movie called "Her Big Adventure" (the mistake is very understandable, since the titles are so similar, and since both movies involve a girl being mistaken for someone important who looks exactly like her!). If anyone knows how to tell the New York Times to fix this, please do so! AND Border Whirlwind, the 1926 John P. McCarthy silent cowboy western starring Bob Custer, Sally Long, Josef Swickard, Wilbur Higby, and Winifred Landis NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
