An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Jumbo Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Our Little Girl, the 1935 John S. Robertson family relationship juvenile musical melodrama ("From the story 'Heaven's Gate' by Florence Leighton Pflazgraf") starring Shirley Temple, Rosemary Ames, Joel McCrea, Lyle Talbot, Erin O'Brien-Moore, and Warren Hymer (he did not make it into the final print of the movie, because, for unknown reasons, his scenes were re-filmed by J. Farrell MacDonald, although his image is on at least one lobby card!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Joseph A. Maturo Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned this jumbo window card once, which was 5 years ago. The person who bought it then has re-consigned it, so it is still the only example of this jumbo window card we have ever auctioned! Note that after the passing of Will Rogers in 1935, Shirley Temple was 20th Century-Fox's number one star, and they assigned their finest artist, Joseph A. Maturo, to create beautiful stone litho posters for each of Shirley Temple's films, with a different poster for every different size! This rare jumbo window card for "Our Little Girl" has one of the best images Mr. Maturo created, and it is extremely rare (we have never auctioned this poster before)! Finally, note that while the studios made jumbo window cards for almost every title throughout the 1930s and 1940s, it appears that next-to-no theaters ordered them, because very few of them survive from ANY 1930s or 1940s movies. Condition: very good. The poster has some tears scattered down the right side (which someone put tape on the back of long ago), with some creases, smudges, and faint stains around the edges. It has a faint partial horizontal crease running at a slight diagonal across the top of the image, entering the top of Temple's hair. The entire card had darkened somewhat, but it is not very fragile. The card has never had any professional restoration, and it will display great just as it is, or certainly one could choose to have it professionally paperbacked, and it will display fantastically!
