An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

You're a Sweetheart (released in other English-speaking countries as "You Are a Sweetheart"), the 1937 David Butler New York City Broadway theater stage acting mistaken identity romantic love triangle musical comedy ("6 Hit Songs"; "Original Story by Warren Wilson, Maxwell Shane, Wm. Thomas"; a cute story of a Broadway show that is due to open on the same day as a big benefit, and the producer is sure the benefit will make his show fail, so he hires a waiter to pose as a Texas millionaire who has "bought out the entire show", because he is madly in love with the star, and he doesn't tell the star, played by Alice Faye, that it is all a stunt!) starring Alice Faye, George Murphy, Ken Murray and His Stooge Oswald, Charles Winninger, Andy Devine, William Gargan, Frances Hunt, Frank Jenks, Casper Reardon, and Tony Labriola (as Oswald; he was Ken Murray's stooge and partner in his radio act, and he teamed with him in this movie and in "Wedding Yells" the following year)

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned 1937 first release half-sheet! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good. The poster was almost completely separated on the horizontal fold and someone put brown paper tape on the back of that area, and for good measure, they did the same to the vertical fold, even though there was only a little bit of separation. There is surface paper loss scattered on most of the horizontal fold, with a tiny bit on the vertical fold. There are some small tears in the left blank border, a few in the other borders, and some pinholes around the edges, with a few smudges. There are two partial vertical creases to the right of the top center of the poster, in the top hat.
