A Slabbed Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (measures 9 1/2" x 12" with slab) (Learn More)

A Girl Named Mary, the 1919 Walter Edwards silent romantic family relationship adoption melodrama (based on the novel "By Juliet Wilbur Tompkins"; about a rich woman whose daughter is kidnapped when she leaves her abusive husband, and 15 years later, she searches for the missing daughter, and she gets a young working girl to help her, never imagining that the girl is actually her lost daughter) starring Marguerite Clark (in the title role as Mary), Kathlyn Williams, Wallace MacDonald, Aggie Herring, Charles Clary, Lillian Leighton, and Pauline Pulliam. Note that Marguerite Clark was a huge female star of the late 1910s (second only to Mary Pickford in playing young girl roles), and amazingly, she was 9 years older than Pickford, and yet both played teenage girls well into their thirties! In this movie, Clark plays a 15 year-old girl, and the woman who plays her mother is only 7 years older than Clark.

Important Added Info: Note that this a movie paper item that was "authenticated" and "graded" by CGC, the famous authenticator of comic books. They gave it a grade of "excellent", and encased it in a Mylar sleeve, with an informative strip one on border, and three punch holes in another border. Note that the still measures 8" x 10", but because it is slabbed into a 9 1/2" x 12" Mylar slab, it is included in this auction of "oversized" stills, even though it is not itself oversized.

Condition: very good to fine.
