Original Vintage Theatrical Chapter #1 Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More)

Les Vampires (released in English-speaking countries as "The Vampires: The Arch Criminals of Paris"), the 1915 Louis Feuillade French silent crime gangster serial ("First of the thrilling 'Vampire' detective mysteries'"; not the bloodsucking kind of vampires, but vampires that steal jewelry; this movie has the distinction of being one of the first gangster serials, as well as being filmed in Paris during World War I when the streets were empty) starring Musidora, Edouard Mathe, Marcel Levesque, Jean Ayme, Fernand Herrmann, and Stacia Napierkowska. Note that Louis Feuillade was one of the most important early French directors! He directed Fantomas in 1913 and this movie in 1915, and it is estimated that he directed over 800 movies! More important, he is credited with being the first to direct "thrillers", and it is clear that Alfred Hitchcock, Fritz Lang, and many other directors were students of Feuillade.

Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).
