An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) MacKinlay Kantor's Happy Land, the 1943 Irving Pichel World War II (WWII) Home Front patriotic propaganda fantasy ghost family melodrama (based on the novel by MacKinlay Kantor; about a small town druggist whose son is killed in World War II, and he thinks his son's life was wasted, but his grandfather's ghost returns to show his grandson why his great grandson's life was worthwhile, and to also show him that his own life was very worthwhile as well) starring Don Ameche, Frances Dee, Harry Carey Sr., Ann Rutherford, Harry Morgan, Minor Watson, Dickie Moore, and Natalie Wood (in a bit part). Note that this movie has many of the plot elements of "It's a Wonderful Life", set against a World War II background, and it clearly served as a parable to show World War II audiences why they were fighting and why they needed to accept the sacrifices of individual family members for the good of the country!
