A Linenbacked Belgian Special Poster (measures 23 1/2" x 38 3/4" [60 x 98 cm]) (Learn More) Royaume de Belgique (literally translates to "Kingdom of Belgium"), the 1904 poster announcing (in French and Dutch) the 1905 celebration of the 75th anniversary of Belgian national independence. The country emerged in 1830 following the Belgian Revolution, when it seceded from the Netherlands. The poster features a list of planned events and also mentions the upcoming world's fair known as the Liege International (or Exposition Universelle et Internationale de Liege). Note that this poster features colorful Hendrick Cassiers artwork. Artist: Hendrick Cassiers Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had creases and scuffs along the bottom fold, with a lesser amount of wear on the other folds. It had smudges and light stains scattered across the bottom text area. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking.
