A whole new generation has been born and is living here ... A quarter-million miles from Earth"; "An epic drama of adventure and exploration"; "...taking you half a billion miles from Earth... Further from home than any man in history. Artist: Bob McCall
Important Added Info: Note that this poster is from when this classic movie premiered in Cinerama at the Casino Theatre in London, England on May 1, 1968 (as part of its Cinerama roadshow engagement). It played at this theater for 47 weeks (from May 1, 1968 to March 25, 1969!). It then played at other English theaters, and new quads were printed that looked similar, but they do not have the printing for this specific premiere theater in the lower right corner. We have seen an example of that later poster at another auction, and it had a snipe over the top tagline that they removed, and put loose with the poster. BUT THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE OF THIS CINERAMA PREMIERE BRITISH QUAD WE HAVE EVER SEEN! Also note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this partially English movie! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good. The poster has three vertical folds and one horizontal fold. It has a thin strip of paper loss at the right end of the top blank border (only blank white paper is affected). There are light brown stains in the center of the top blank border (at the top edge) and it looks like there was once a 5" piece of clear tape slightly overlapping the top edge of that top border. It has the tiniest bit of surface paper loss in the right border and the slightest of wear to the other borders. There are a few creases scattered around the edges and along the folds. Other than the above defects, the poster is in nice condition and has never had any restoration. I would think that almost all collectors would prefer to keep this poster as it is, but certainly, one could choose to have slight restoration performed. Either way, the new owner will have a really rare (and really wonderful) poster!
