An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Five Graves to Cairo, the 1943 Billy Wilder World War II (WWII) Egypt British-in-Africa military spy espionage romantic action thriller ("Did a Woman Start the Rout of Rommel?"; "Based on a play by Lajos Biro"; about an English undercover agent stationed in northern Africa who discovers that the Nazis have hidden stockpiles of supplies in different bases across northern Africa, and he has to figure out a way to alert the Allies while behind enemy lines, with the aid of a beautiful woman) starring Franchot Tone, Anne Baxter, Akim Tamiroff, Erich von Stroheim ("as Field Marshal Erwin Rommel", The Desert Fox), and Peter Van Eyck NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was machine folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: fair. Erich von Stroheim was known as "the man you love to hate", and some theatergoer, either because of that, or because it was during World War II and he hated Nazis, defaced von Stroheim's upper lip. Someone put a piece of tape on the back of that area and then performed very crude restoration, which really doesn't make it much better. Certainly, a talented restorer could restore that area by painting it over, but please bear that in mind when you bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
