An Unfolded Special Wild West Show Poster (measures 12" x 18 3/4" [30 x 48 cm]) (Learn More) Buffalo Bill's Wild West was a touring show, founded in 1883 by Buffalo Bill Cody. Buffalo Bill's Wild West toured Europe eight times, but sadly by 1894 the show was nearly bankrupt by a poor economy. Buffalo Bill signed a contract in which he was tricked by two showmen into selling them the show and demoting himself to a mere employee and attraction of the Sells-Floto Circus! If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this card has really cool gold embossing (the card itself is embossed). There is a stamp on the back from the "Standard Embossing Company", who obviously did this work, and it is quite nice, and pretty much a lost art! Condition: good. The poster, which is printed on a cardboard that has the gold border literally embossed into it, had some small paper loss in the right of the top border that extended into the very top of some of the letters. Someone glued a piece of cardboard to the back of that area and then drew in the missing area, but it is pretty noticeable. There are some light stains scattered throughout, but in spite of the defects, this card displays pretty well. Learn More about condition grades
