An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) The Men In Her Life, the 1941 Gregory Ratoff romantic ballerina melodrama ("Men found her exciting..."; "The world was her stage... Mens' hearts her stepping-stones!"; "The Life And Loves Of An Exciting Woman!"; "Her story may shock most men... but every woman will understand it!"; "Based on a novel by Lady Eleanor Smith"; an odd story of a female circus performer who becomes a ballerina thanks to the help of her first husband, and when he dies, she marries an American and quits dancing, but returns to dancing after she becomes pregnant and leaves her husband, and her husband reclaims the child and she spends the rest of her life dancing and involved with other men) starring Loretta Young, Conrad Veidt, Dean Jagger, Otto Kruger, John Shepperd, Eugenie Leontovich, and Ann Todd. Note that the source novel was written by Lady Eleanor Smith, who had an unusual background. Her father was a member of the House of Lords, but she worked as a publicist for circuses, and ended up writing many popular stories! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that starting in the early 1930s, Columbia would often re-release many of their more popular movies, often just a few years after the first release (likely this was because Columbia was saving money any way they could, since it was in the height of The Great Depression). Sometimes these re-releases were printed from the same plates as the original, sometimes in full-color and sometimes duotone, and sometimes different art was created. This practice continued through the 1940s and early 1950s. In the case of the ones that are full-color, the only difference between them and the first release was that the copyright date was changed, and the poster received a new litho number (once Columbia posters started being distributed by NSS, the posters received re-issue NSS numbers, but many of these early re-releases predated Columbia's involvement with NSS). So sometimes over the years, some unscrupulous individuals have taken some of these re-releases, and altered the copyright date, to try to "pass them off" as original releases. Certainly, in the case of this poster, that could be done, because the only difference between it and the 1941 original is a tiny "1943" in the bottom left copyright area and a different litho number in the bottom right. Otherwise, the posters are identical. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on many parts of some foldlines.
