Condition: very good to fine. The poster had an area of paper loss in the left of the top of the poster (in the brown background area only). There was a triangular area of paper loss in the background area to the right of the man's shoulder, including a tiny portion of his shoulder. There was an oval-shaped area of paper loss in the upper part of the arm of his jacket. There were two oval-shaped areas of paper loss in the bottom right of the image (one in the bottom of the man's robe, and one in the background area beneath it. There were two triangular areas of paper loss in the bottom of the brown border of the poster, just above the bottom blank border and a tiny area of paper loss in the "R" of "MARTIN" in the credits. Other than the seven areas of paper loss described above, the poster had the most minor of fold and border wear, and was generally in quite nice condition, especially considering the poster is over 90 years old! Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed. The restorer did a pretty nice job of matching the missing areas (you can clearly see the restoration, but from any reasonable viewing distance, it is not at all noticeable or distracting, and it is mostly in solid background areas).
