Artist: Mario Zamparelli
Important Added Info: Note that this movie was made by Howard Hughes when he owned RKO, and Hughes oversaw every aspect of the production, as he did with many of the other movies made by him or at his studio. He hired Italian Mario Zamparelli to do the posters for this movie and most of the others Hughes produced in the 1940s and 1950s, but Zamparelli REALLY delivered a spectacular piece of art on this three-sheet which makes it one of the most desirable posters of the 1950s, and because the figures are roughly "life size", the poster displays wonderfully in person! Also note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap.

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster had very minor wear on the folds. It had a 1" tear and a 1/2" tear in the background below the "v" of "Lives" in the title. The colors were bright and fresh! Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and will display wonderfully on the new owner's wall!
