She was Playboy's Playmate of the Month for the May 1954 issue, and she also appeared on the covers of the March 1954 and August 1955 issues. She of her film roles include: Son of Paleface, The Caddy, and Girl Gang. As of 2021, she is still alive at the age of 89! If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is extremely similar to the Marilyn Monroe poster that measures the exact same size and have the same type of small writing at the bottom (and we are auctioning an example of that Marilyn poster in a separate auction). They were sold commercially to the public. Since Marilyn was the centerfold of the December 1953 issue, and since Miss Arnold was the centerfold of the May 1954 issue, we can reasonably assume that both posters were made and sold in either late 1954 or 1955, and they may well have been offered simultaneously. However, we have auctioned several examples of the Marilyn poster, and this is the only example of this Joanne Arnold poster we have ever auctioned. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had a small tear and tiny paper loss in the lower right white background area, near Miss Arnold's knee, and some smudges in that same area, with a 4" tear in the border to the right of that area. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
