An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More)

Laraine Day was an actress from the 1930s to the 1980s. Some of her movies include: Foreign Correspondent, Stella Dallas, Mr. Lucky, The High and the Mighty, and Tarzan Finds a Son! She had a long running role as Nurse Mary Lamont opposite Lew Ayres in many of the Dr. Kildare movies. Note that many official biographies list her birth date as being in 1917, but when she signed an autograph on a trading card with a biography, she crossed out the 1917 and wrote "1920" above it, indicating she was actually three years younger than that indicated! AND Mary Howard was an actress from the 1930s to the 1940s. Some of her movies include: The Great Ziegfeld, Marie Antoinette, Test Pilot, Abe Lincoln in Illinois, and Love Finds Andy Hardy. Note that Will Rogers had a daughter named Mary, who tried to make it in Hollywood under the assumed name of "Mary Howard" in 1933. She didn't have any success, and she quit show business. Three years later, this actress came along, and she was billed as "Mary Howard", her real name, and she had a somewhat successful career in movies. But because of the earlier "Mary Howard" (Will Rogers' daughter), information about the two of them has been merged on many Internet sites, including the IMDb. THIS Mary Howard is NOT the daughter of Will Rogers.
Important Added Info: Note that the still shows a great candid image of Laraine Day and Mary Howard, "two young Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer players", who have just visited the "interior decorating establishment of William Haines, former motion picture star". Since both these stars started in the mid-1930s, we would guess this still dates from around 1937 or 1938. Also note that there is information about the still printed on the back.

Condition: very good. There are faint emulsion scuffs scattered throughout the still, but they are truthfully not very noticeable except when the still is tilted to the light.
