Annie Laurie, the 1927 John S. Robertson silent Scotland romantic love triangle family rivalry melodrama ("A romance by Josephine Lovett - Titles by Marian Ainslee and Ruth Cummings"; about the famous rivalry between the Scottish Clans of MacDonald and Campbell, and the young woman who tried to bring them together) starring Lillian Gish (in the title role as Annie Laurie), Norman Kerry, Creighton Hale, Joseph Striker, and Hobart Bosworth

Important Added Info: Note that many collectors do not know it, but "half-sheets" were almost always printed with two of them together on a single sheet that measured 28" x 44". After they were printed, they were cut perfectly in half, and then distributed to theaters. When there were two styles of half-sheets, they would print one style on top and one on the bottom. Very, very few of these uncut "double half-sheets" survive! In this case, the two half-sheets from two different styles of half-sheet from this 1927 Lillian Gish movie (and in the case of this movie, not only have we never auctioned either of these half-sheets before, but we have also never auctioned even one poster from this movie, only lobby cards! Also note that this poster was folded, and because it would damage it to ship it rolled in a tube, we will leave it folded and ship it in a standard flat package.

Condition: good. Some theater received these two half-sheets and instead of cutting them apart, they likely wanted to display them like a one-sheet, so they trimmed the blank borders (to 27" x 43 1/2") and then folded the two posters like a one-sheet, and the combined special poster measures almost exactly 11" x 14" when completely folded (and it is currently stored that way, and will be shipped that way). The special poster is darkened on all the folds and in the borders but is not very fragile. The winning bidder of this auction could choose to display the two posters together as it is, separate them and display them, or choose to restore them, either together or separated. We leave that to the new owner of this super scarce set of two uncut half-sheets.
