An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Girlfriends, the circa 1932 Vitaphone comedy short ("A Vitaphone Short Subject"; "They're both funny in a big way") starring Thelma White (billed as "Thin Thelma White"), and Fanny Watson (billed as "Fat Fanny Watson"; in these days of political correctness, I would not be looking for a re-make of this movie anytime soon!). Apparently, there was a series of these "Girlfriends" comedies, but I can find no information about them. Note that the one-sheet for this movie is undated, but it has a litho number, and comparing this number to our massive database of litho numbers taken from actual movie posters, we can determine that this poster is almost certainly from 1932! Not only have we never sold even a single movie paper item from this movie before, but we have also never even heard of any other movie from this series! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was folded in half an extra time. It had small paper loss some crossfolds and some tears and tiny paper loss across the bottom horizontal fold and on parts of the other foldlines. It had some pinholes and paper loss in the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
