An Original Vintage Record "Acting Game" Album (measures approximately 12" x 12", contains record jacket, record in an interior jacket, and a script for the game) (Learn More)

Co-Star the Record Acting Game, the circa 1960s "record acting game". This was probably one of the most lame ideas for a game I could ever imagine! Apparently, you were supposed to "act scenes opposite Vincent Price", and there were a series of fourteen other such games with other celebrities including Basil Rathbone, Virginia Mayo, Pearl Bailey, and even "Slapsie Maxie" Rosenbloom. To play the game, you had to "follow these simple instructions". You removed the enclosed script, open it to any scene you want to play, put the record on the corresponding scene, and then listen carefully as "the narrator sets the scene and the star (in this case, Vincent Price) acts out his part and gives you your cue". Note that it was important that after you get your cue from the star, that you "read your lines at the proper pace so that the flow of the scene is natural and realistic". They tell you that you could follow the script but that you were allowed to change or improvise your lines. I wonder how many of these record acting games were sold, and what happened to the person who invented them (Ray Shaw)?. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good. The record jacket has a hole punched in the top right corner, and has 6" of separation in the top of the jacket and 8" of separation in the bottom of the jacket. The record appears to be in excellent condition, but I have no way of playing it. The script for the game is in nice condition.
