The Great White Hope, the 1970 Martin Ritt boxing sports biographical melodrama ("He could beat any white man in the world. And wipe the grin off his big black face."; "Now this award winning talent has been reunited for an unparalleled motion picture achievement..."; "Screenplay by Howard Sackler based on his play."; a fictionalized biography of legendary heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson, an incredible black African American boxer who encountered many problems due to his refusal to be treated as a second class citizen; because the man who wrote the play did not buy the rights to Johnson's life story, the names in the play and movie are changed) starring James Earl Jones (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Jane Alexander (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Lou Gilbert, Chester Morris, Hal Holbrook, Moses Gunn, and Robert Webber

Important Added Info: Note that at this time, it was common for studios to prepare 11x14 stills in two ways. One type of stills would have the copyright information and the title of the movie in the 1/2" across the bottom of each still. Some theaters prefer these, but others preferred to just have photographic images from the movie, so the studios would also print stills that measured 10 1/2" x 14", and only showed the image from the movie, and did not have that bottom 1/2" (called a "slug"). Some collectors prefer 11x14 stills with "slugs", and some do not care. Note that the set of stills offered here does NOT have "slugs", but does have a "title card", which measures 11" x 14".

Condition: very good to fine.
