An Original Vintage Advertising Standee (measures 11" x 15 3/4") (Learn More)

Lux is a brand of soap founded by the firm Lever Brothers (now known as Unilever) in 1899. The name changed from Sunlight Flakes to Lux in 1900. Lux toilet soap was launched in the United States in 1925 and in the United Kingdom in 1928. It was a white soap packaged in pastel colors designed to be comparable to the finer French soaps, but more affordable.
Important Added Info: Note that this die-cut standee has two slotted areas at the bottom. We don't know exactly how it was intended to be used (perhaps the two cuts were to allow the standee to be placed over the top of something). If anyone has seen another example of this and can tell us if there is a second piece or how it worked, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: good. The standee has faint smudges and stains scattered throughout, including some in Sheridan's face. Likely a restorer could remove some or all of the staining through chemical means, and otherwise, the standee is in excellent condition!
