An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Arrowsmith, the 1931 John Ford medical doctor romantic melodrama ("The great American novel now becomes the great American motion picture!"; "He devoted his life to service... and his heart to the love of one woman"; "From the Nobel Prize novel by Sinclair Lewis"; about the life of a dedicated doctor, from his earliest days in medical school through a long distinguished career; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Ronald Colman (in the title role as Dr. Martin Arrowsmith), Helen Hayes, Richard Bennett, Myrna Loy, and A.E. Anson. Note that there is something very ironic about the crediting United Artists used for the source novel. When Lewis wrote Arrowsmith, he was voted the Pulitzer Prize for it, but he refused it. In 1930, he was given the Nobel Prize for Literature, not specifically for any one novel, and he accepted it. Samuel Goldwyn, the producer of the movie, wanted to advertise that this was an award-winning novel, so he combined the two above facts to get the tagline "from the Nobel Prize novel", which is not strictly true!

Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. There is some light water staining in the top border (see our images). Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! This lobby card is an excellent candidate for restoration, because it is likely the water staining can be removed through chemical means, and after proper restoration, this card will look fantastic!
