BIRCH MASTER MAGICIAN BIRCH MASTER MAGICIAN special poster OR search current auctions Auction History Result b009 BIRCH MASTER MAGICIAN magic show poster '30s Date Sold 10/11/2007Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Folded Magic Show Poster (measures 28" x 41 1/4") (Learn More) Birch Master Magician and company, the 1930s magic show poster used to advertise Birch, Master Magician ("50 Startling Mysteries!"; "The Sensational Vanishing Pony"; "GONE!"; "Special Musical Feature MABEL SPERRY Xylophone Artist Supreme"), and the poster has great artwork images of of the vanishing pony, and of an India native climbing up a rigid rope, with a man in a turban and a kneeling praying man at the bottom of the rope. Note that the poster was printed by the "Central Show Prtg. Co., Inc., Mason City, IA.". Our brief research and a knowledgeable collector tells us that the Birch on this poster was "MacDonald Birch", who was a native of Morgan County, Ohio who performed throughout the world, and advertised that he had performed before the crowned heads of Europe (but that might have just been hype!). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the poster has been folded for many years (into roughly 11" x 14" size), and will be sent folded, in one of our extra heavy duty boxes. Condition: very good. The poster has two vertical folds and two horizontal folds. There is tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and many creases and scuffs along some foldlines. But overall, the poster is in pretty nice condition, especially considering its age, and it would display great just as it is, or after a simple linenbacking, it would look really fantastic!
