An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More)

The Prodigal, the 1955 Richard Thorpe religious Biblical romantic fantasy adventure melodrama ("Two Years In the Making! A Fortune to Produce!"; "The story of Woman's Beauty and Man's Temptation!"; "MGM's magnificent Cinemascope and Color Spectacle!"; "Adaptation From The Bible Story by Joe Breen Jr. and Samuel James Larsen"; an attempt to explain what happened to the Jewish son in Jesus' parable of the prodigal son, between the time when he left his father and returned penniless; the writers invented a story of him falling for a beautiful pagan priestess, who deceives him) starring Lana Turner (as Samarra), Edmund Purdom (as Micah), Louis Calhern, Audrey Dalton, James Mitchell, Neville Brand, Walter Hampden, Taina Elg, Francis L. Sullivan, Joseph Wiseman, and Sandy Descher (billed as "Sandra Descher")
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that the still shows a great candid image of the twelve beautiful southern California girls who were chosen to appear on a "Human Wheel of Fortune", an actual gambling device that was used in 70 B.C.. But they did not have the wheel assembled at the time of this publicity shot, so the twelve girls are pictured by a ladder instead! Also note that there is information about the still printed on the back. Note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock.

Condition: good to very good. There is a diagonal crease in the bottom right corner (the background area only). There are a few faint brown stains in the top right corner and in the background at top center, but otherwise, the still is in pretty nice condition!
