Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the 1887-1904 (at least) stage play production (based on the Robert Louis Stevenson novel). If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that the image on this poster is from a performance of this play from the 1890s through the very early 1900s. We have seen several sellers offering this poster as being from 1904, because they have seen a newspaper ad showing this image, and they assume this is a poster from that year. However, we believe that it is a reproduction poster that was created by the Theater Collection Museum of the City of New York, and that it was likely sold to the public who attended an exhibition at that museum. We are guessing that it is from the 1970s, but that is a very wild guess. The "Theater Collection Museum of the City of New York" is apparently an amazing archive of over 190,000 images relating to the theater, but surprisingly, it is difficult to find out information about when it was formed or when and where posters like these were made (it may be that the creator of this poster simply leased the image from the museum). If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. However, do not bid on this poster thinking it is from 1904, because we feel certain it is from many decades later, and unless you can accept the uncertainty of how and when it was created and distributed, because we really have no idea at all.

Condition: good. The poster has darkened somewhat. It has tape, pinholes, and tiny paper loss around the edges, but it does not affect the image area. The poster could be matted and displayed exactly as it is, but it does have the above clear defects.
