A Folded Two-Sided Special Movie Poster (measures 14" x 34" [36 x 86 cm]) (Learn More)

The Sun Dagger, the 1983 Anna Sofaer & Albert Ihde PBS made-for-TV Native American astrological documentary ("This beautiful film tells the intriguing story of perhaps the most exciting early Indian discovery in North America. The 'dagger', a celestial calendar rediscovered by Washington D.C. artist Anna Sofaer in 1977, is presently the only known site in the world that marks the extreme positions of both the sun and the moon. The film explores the extraordinary culture of the Anasazi Indians who constructed the calendar, and thrived both spiritually and materially in the harsh environment of Chaco Canyon, New Mexico, a thousand years ago.") narrated by Robert Redford. Note that this movie was first shown on PBS, but was later released on 16mm film and video, in both a 1-hour and half-hour version, and that it was primarily rented for school showings to students. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has small printing on the back of the bottom center that gives a plot summary of the movie, some reviews, and also information about renting or buying both the 1-hour and half-hour versions of the movie (this advertising seems aimed at schools, since it says "Grades 7 - Adult" and gives school subjects that it applies to). Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good to very good. There are some vertical scuffs in the center of the poster. Someone wrote the title of the movie on the back in red marker, but it does not affect the front.
