An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked English One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 40" [69 x 102 cm]) (Learn More)

Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, the 1982 Nicholas Meyer science fiction (sci-fi) outer space adventure sequel ("At the end of the universe lies the beginning of vengeance."; "Based on Star Trek Created by Gene Roddenberry") starring William Shatner (as Captain James T. Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (as Spock), DeForest Kelley (as McCoy), James Doohan (as Scotty), Walter Koenig (as Chekov), George Takei (as Sulu), Nichelle Nichols (as Uhura), Bibi Besch, Paul Winfield ("as Terrell"), Kirstie Alley (billed as "introducing Kirstie Alley as Savvik"), and Ricardo Montalban (in the title role; billed as "starring Ricardo Montalban as Khan"). Note that the Star Trek TV show went off the air in 1969, with a cult following, but without a lot of general success. But there was enough interest built up over the following years that Star Trek: The Motion Picture was made in 1979. While the movie did well at the box office, it was not critically well received, and it looked like that might have been the end of the franchise, but then Nicholas Meyer wrote and directed this sequel, which was a giant critical and commercial success, and led to all the many sequels and spin-offs in the years since!

Artist: Bob Peak
Important Added Info: Note that this English one-sheet was printed in the U.K., but was intended to be used when the movie was shown in Spanish speaking countries, and it uses the art from the international U.S. one-sheet, which is very different from the image on the regular U.S. one-sheet.

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period). Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
