An Original Vintage Stage Play Playbill (measures 5 1/2" x 7 3/4" [14 x 20 cm]; 16 pages) (Learn More) Kibitzer, the 1929 Patterson McNutt Broadway New York City rags-to-riches comedy stage play production (written by Jo Swerling & Edward G. Robinson; about a Jewish cigar store owner who feels that he would be a giant success if he only had a little money, and then he saves a rich man's life, and the rich man gives him 10,000 shares of stock, which WOULD make him rich, but he can't bring himself to sell the stock, because he is afraid it will keep rising!) starring Edward G. Robinson, Richard Bennett, Hobart Cavanaugh, Hooper L. Atchley, Fred Irving Lewis, Elaine Temple, and Lee Smith. Note that Edward G. Robinson not only starred in this play, but also co-wrote it. He had been on Broadway since 1915, but he did not make his first movie until shortly after starring in this play, and then he of course became a gigantic Hollywood star! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is actually a playbill for the play "Jarnegan", starring Richard Bennett in the title role. But that play is almost completely forgotten today, and much more interesting is the full-page ad for the theater's "next attraction", which was "Kibitzer with Edward G. Robinson and A Sterling New York Cast", described as "The Season's Greatest Comedy Drama" (see our image). Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
