An Original Vintage Unfolded Circus Poster (measures 20 3/4" x 27 3/4") (Learn More) Hoxie Bros. Circus was founded in 1943 by Hoxie Trucker in Greenville, Florida. In the late 1960s and 1960s, the Hoxie Circus became known for it's trucks unusual color (in fact, all of the show equipment were painted with a lavender color). In the early 1970s, John Hall became manager of the show and a new era began for the circus. Hall brought new ideas to the show and breath new life into the Hoxie Bros. Circus. The new format was a huge success and now Hoxie Bros. competed with larger circuses. By the late 1970s Hoxie decided to open a smaller second unit that could play the smaller towns the main show had out grown. The name of the new show was Hoxie's Great American Circus and it operated until the 1980s. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. There are many creases, pinholes, tears, and tiny areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster, as well as some tape and tape stains. There is a long diagonal crease across the top title area. There are some faint brown water stains scattered in parts of the image. This is the sort of poster that responds really well to restoration! The tape can be professionally removed, and it is likely that some or all of the faint water stains, ripples and creases can be removed during the linenbacking process. After proper linenbacking, the poster will look great, and it likely will have little paint restoration anywhere in the image. Learn More about condition grades
