An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) thriller ("Based on the short story by Cornell Woolrich"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a man who breaks his leg and is forced to stay at his home until he's better; during this time he observes his neighbors and does some voyeuristic detective work) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; as Jeff), Grace Kelly (as Lisa), Wendell Corey (as Detective Lt. Doyle), Thelma Ritter (as Stella), Raymond Burr (as Lars Thorwald), Judith Evelyn (as Miss Lonelyhearts), Georgine Darcy (as Miss Torso), Jesslyn Fax (as Miss Hearing Aid), Rand Harper, Havis Davenport (Harper and Davenport played the "newlyweds"), and Ross Bagdasarian (as the "Songwriter"). Note that Raymond Burr had appeared in movies for seven years before this, but always had minor roles, usually playing the "heavy". It would be three more years before his big break in 1957, when he became TV's "Perry Mason"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was machine folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: fair to good. There are several 3" and smaller vertical tears along the foldlines at upper and lower center (with a tiny amount of paper loss in the "o" in "Technicolor" at upper right) as well as some tattering around the edges of the poster. There are creases and scuffs throughout the poster from it being oddly folded and roughly handled at one time. There is writing on the back of the poster at top and bottom that does not appear to have any effect on the front. Note that while this poster's defects are significant they are of the type that could be greatly minimized by a talented restorer. After restoration by a talented professional, the poster will surely display well (although I can imagine some collectors would be happy to display it just as it is)!
