A Group of 2 Vintage German Hardcover Bound Volumes (measure 9 1/4" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; book 1 has 450 pages and book 2 has 600 pages) (Learn More)

Film Magazin, the weekly German movie magazine published from 1929 to the 1930s (at least). Each issue had around 24 pages, with profusely illustrated articles on then current movies and stars. As with all German paper from before World War II, the issues are extremely rare, likely because of the massive paper shortages during World War II, when most old paper was recycled.
Important Added Info: Note that these two bound volumes contain 40 issues of this magazine, all from 1929. Because this was a wonderful year for movies, the 40 issues contain many articles on really important movies and stars, including Fritz Lang's "Woman in the Moon", Louise Brooks in "Diary of a Lost Girl", and films from Leni Riefenstahl, Brigitte Helm, Lon Chaney Sr., and many others! This is a year where virtually no first release movie paper from German films exist, so that makes these volumes even more special. We wish we could have shown you every single page of both volumes, but we showed 30 two-page spreads, which certainly should give you a good idea of the contents. But you will have to buy the volumes to see the rest!

Note: We have 32 images of the books in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 32 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 22. Note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads.

Condition: very good. Both volumes have survived really well. One page has a tear on it caused by someone not being careful with the volume, and the pages do need to be handled carefully, because they are printed on a thin paper, but I would think that these have survived in about as good condition as one could possibly hope.
