The Splendid Crime, the 1925 William C. de Mille silent romantic crime melodrama (a great story of a pretty female thief who is about to rob a young millionaire, and he tests her by leaving a lot of money out, and she refuses to take it, and she goes straight and becomes a dressmaker, but later, the tables are turned and he is about to be bankrupt unless he steals $20,000, and he is going to do it, and she steals the money before he can, and she takes the blame for doing so, which makes him realize how stupid he was, and he declares bankruptcy and becomes a golf pro, and since she gave back the money, she is free and the two marry!) starring Bebe Daniels, Neil Hamilton, Anne Cornwall, Anthony Jowitt, and Fred Walton. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Condition: good. The cloth banner has water stains scattered throughout, and it was once folded, and it has wear on the foldlines and around the edges. Certainly, it could still be displayed as it is, but the defects are distracting. One could have it professionally backed (and I have seen cloth banners that have been backed, and they look fantastic), but this can be very expensive, so bear all of this in mind before placing a bid on this wonderful poster (which is almost surely the only surviving example of this poster!).
