Adolfi Coney Island Brooklyn New York penny arcade romantic crime thriller ("Based on the play by Marie Baumer") starring Grant Withers, Evalyn Knapp, James Cagney, Lucille La Verne, Noel Madison, and Joan Blondell. Note that this movie is most notable for being James Cagney's VERY first movie ever! He has such a minor role that he is not billed on some of the posters, and third billed on other items, and not pictured on any posters that we know of. Also in the movie is Joan Blondell, who was in her fifth movie, and received no billing on any posters. Bizarrely, one of the eight lobby cards pictured both Cagney and Blondell by themselves! Certainly, in 1930, this would have been the ultimate "dead card", because it pictured two completely unknown actors, but in the late 1990s, Bruce Hershenson discovered a set of cards from this movie, and that card auctioned for around $1,600! Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: fair to good. Learn More about condition grades
