Les Amants (released in the U.S. in 1959 as "Louis Malle's The Lovers"), the 1958 Louis Malle French romantic melodrama ("Never before has the camera focused so intimately - so revealingly!"; "The most talked-about and fought-about film!"; "All civilized restraint was swept away!"; "She knew the moment of climax had come... and all civilized restraint was swept away!") starring Jeanne Moreau, Jean-Marc Bory, Judith Magre, Gaston Modot, and Alain Cuny

Artist: Georges Allard
Important Added Info: Note that there is a tiny "7/59 Depot legal 59/3" with "25765" after the Depot legal after the printer information at the bottom of the poster. This means that this poster is a 1959 first release poster (it officially opened in November 1958, but that was probably at a festival, perhaps the Cannes Film Festival).

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster had very tiny paper loss at some crossfolds and minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
