What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster was never folded. It had a long vertical tear near the bottom center, with some tears and tiny paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. Many years ago, someone mounted it onto very thin linen with no excess and no restoration. Since that time, it has acquired some tiny surface paper loss around the edges and some in the background near the man's hand, and it also has acquired some creases around the edges. All of this is both in the poster and in the linen, but it is hard to say how much occurred before and after it was backed.
