eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result w068 STINGAREE magic lantern movie glass slide '15 A Bushranger at Bay! Date Sold 6/27/2006Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unnumbered Episode ("A Bushranger at Bay") Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Stingaree, the 1915 James W. Horne silent crime mystery serial starring True Boardman, Marin Sais, Paul Hurst, Thomas G. Lingham, and Frank Jonasson. Note that the information above is for the first of the "Stingaree" movies. There was a long series of movies that were billed as "The Stingaree Series". Each of these movies had their own title, but were billed as "episodes", although they were not chapters of a serial, but rather independent movies. We have not been able to locate information on the individual movies of this series, so we have listed each of these as "Stingaree". If anyone knows more about this series of movies, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the back pane of glass has two long diagonal cracks. One runs through the image area, and both run through the bottom of the title. Since both are in the back pane of glass, both are barely visible from the front of the slide. Note that this is one of six slides we are selling this week from six different episodes of the "Stingaree" series. Be sure to look at the other five slides we are selling separately on eBay as separate items! Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: good. This glass slide has clear condition problems that causes it to be in less than "very good" condition. We do NOT describe those defects in words (UNLESS the defect is a crack in one or both panes of the glass, in which case we ALWAYS describe it elsewhere within the auction in words), and you can likely see some or all of them in the "large" and "super-sized" images we provide. If you are the sort who can accept a major defect, then you should bid on items in this condition grade, BUT PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THESE ITEMS UNLESS YOU CAN ACCEPT THEIR VERY CLEAR DEFECTS!
