Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook is auctioned fairly frequently, and sometimes, as we are doing now, it is auctioned together with a special supplement that was distributed along with the regular pressbook (perhaps Hitchcock saw the regular pressbook and felt they needed to better explain how he intended the film to be marketed)! This supplement is entitled "The Care and Handling of Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock", and it says at the bottom "This is a companion piece to the regular Paramount pressbook on Psycho". The book is loaded with photographs of Hitchcock and the many special teaser ads that were used to promote the film ("It is required you see PSYCHO from the very beginning"; "We won't allow you to cheat yourself"; "No one, not even the manager's brother will be admitted into the theater after the start of each performance of PSYCHO"). HOWEVER, NOT ONLY ARE WE AUCTIONING THE PRESSBOOK AND THE SPECIAL 18-PAGE SUPPLEMENT DESCRIBED ABOVE, BUT WE ARE ALSO AUCTIONING FIVE OTHER SUPPLEMENTS, WHICH WERE SENT TO THEATERS, BUT WHICH WE HAVE NOT SEEN BEFORE! Four of them are 8 1/2" x 11" single-sided sheets, and one is an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet that has been folded to create 4 pages (see our images of the four single-sided supplements and the cover of the 4-page supplement). Condition: very good, NO CUTS. All items are complete and uncut and unfolded. The pressbook itself has many creases down the spine of the cover and some faint stains scattered on the cover, but the rest of the pressbook is in nice condition. The "Care and Handling" supplement has minor spine wear but is otherwise nice. The other five supplements are in excellent condition. Learn More about condition grades
