An Original Vintage Theatrical Japanese Movie Campaign Book (measures 8 1/4" x 11 3/4" [21 x 30 cm]; 74 pages) (Learn More) Japanese Motion Picture Industry 1956, the 1956 softcover book created by the "Motion Picture Association of Japan, Inc.", which consisted of the six Japanese film production companies then in existence, which included Toho. These six companies created 90% of the feature films made in Japan in 1955, and Japan had 5,000 theaters in 1955 (this information comes from this book). This book, which is entirely in English (because it was surely intended for non-Japanese countries, especially the U.S.) has two pages ads for each of many upcoming movies, with several images from each movie. Probably far and away of most interest to collectors is the section on Toho movies, which has a wonderful 2-page spread for "Godzilla No Gyakushu", which they refer to as "Godzilla Raids Again", but which was released in the U.S. as "Gigantis, The Fire Monster" in 1959.
